Two Journeys to Mexico – A Hundred Years Apart 6 March 2012
|
Robin on horseback |
Robin Bayley is the author of the critically acclaimed The Mango Orchard, which is an account of his journey in his great grandfather's footsteps around the Americas. He has written for many publications, including Traveller magazine, has appeared on BBC Radio 4's Excess Baggage and has spoken at the Royal Geographical Society. In this talk he contrasts his journey with his ancestor's, who travelled by steam ship, train, horse and carriage and sedan chair in the late 1890s. Robin also talks about the extraordinary secret he uncovered, which changed the lives of hundreds of people for ever. |
